People & Careers Chris Follows Takes on Snowdon for The Albion Foundation Published: August 4, 2026 Author: Luke Redfern Chris Follows, Operations Director at International Tyres and Trading Limited | Image: International Tyres and Trading Limited Chris Follows, operations director at International Tyres and Trading Limited, is preparing to climb Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon, during August 2026. The 1,085-metre trek will raise funds for The Albion Foundation and its community programmes covering health, education, inclusion and wellbeing. Supporting community programmes The fundraising effort will support the Foundation’s work with participants across Sandwell and neighbouring communities.

Tyres is based in Rowley Regis, close to West Bromwich Albion’s home at The Hawthorns. The company is also a member of The Albion Foundation’s Patrons Club. When the partnership was announced, Follows said the company wanted to “have a positive impact on our local area and its people”.
The company said every contribution to the Snowdon challenge would help the Foundation continue delivering its community activities. A wider relationship with the Foundation The trek follows other work between International Tyres and the Foundation. This has included a work-experience placement giving a local student exposure to several departments within the tyre wholesaler.

Tyres has also continued to strengthen its trade-facing workforce. Tyre News recently reported on the appointments of Joanna James and Paula Latcham as area sales managers. That followed the recruitment of William Farrow as business development manager, supporting the company’s UK customer network. Why the challenge matters Although the climb sits outside International Tyres’ core wholesale operations, it reflects the role tyre businesses can play within their local communities. Other companies across the sector have also supported fundraising through staff participation,
sponsorship and practical resources. Recent examples include Bridgestone’s support for Sporting Bears and New Bridgegate Tyres’ involvement in a tyre-flipping charity challenge.
