RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTED DELIVERABLES FROM DATA SCIENTIST

- Delivering high-quality application
- Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
- Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions
- Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and improvement of development and business strategies.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of current data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

SKILLS:

- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as kNN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
- Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, NumPy, MatLab, etc. Excellence in at least more than one of these is highly desirable
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering,



decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc.
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase
- Good scripting and programming skills
- Data-oriented personality
- Experience with Python Flask
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Min 4+ yrs. of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Experience working with and creating data architectures.
- Must be a well-organized, composed, self-motivated world-class individual contributor or thriving to become so
- Collaborative in nature and ability to leverage teams to deliver outstanding results
