Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QAQC Engineer – Civil for a Building Project in Pune. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality standards at site and ensuring all civil works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project quality requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Responsible for overall QA/QC activities for civil works at the building project site.
2. Prepare and maintain Project Quality Plan, ITP, method statements, checklists and quality formats.
3. Carry out inspection of civil works such as excavation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring and finishing works.
4. Ensure all construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, GFC drawings, technical specifications, IS codes and quality standards.
5. Check reinforcement, formwork, alignment, levels, dimensions and embedded items before concreting.
6. Conduct concrete quality checks including slump test, temperature check, cube casting and cube testing coordination.
7. Prepare and maintain pour cards, inspection requests, checklists, material inspection reports and daily quality reports.
8. Inspect incoming construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, blocks, tiles, waterproofing materials and other civil materials.
9. Coordinate with third-party labs for material testing and ensure timely submission of test reports.

Raise NCRs for non-conforming works and follow up for corrective and preventive actions.
11. Coordinate with client, consultant, project team, subcontractors and execution team for quality inspections and approvals.
12. Monitor subcontractor work quality and ensure compliance with approved method statements and quality procedures.
13. Maintain proper QA/QC documentation, test certificates, calibration records, inspection reports and quality compliance records.
14. Support internal and external quality audits and ensure audit readiness at site.
15. Ensure closure of quality observations, site instructions and NCRs within the required timeline.
16. Guide site execution teams on quality requirements and approved construction methodology.
17. Ensure workmanship quality is maintained during all stages of construction.
18. Prepare weekly/monthly quality reports and submit to the project management team.

Required Skills

1. Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures for building construction projects.
2. Strong understanding of RCC works, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting and finishing activities.
3. Knowledge of IS codes, project specifications, inspection procedures and construction standards.
4. Experience in material testing, concrete testing, cube testing and slump testing.
5. Ability to read civil drawings, GFC drawings, BOQ, specifications and method statements.
6. Good documentation and reporting skills.
7. Ability to handle client and consultant inspections independently.
8. Valuable coordination and communication skills.
9. Knowledge of NCR, CAPA, ITP, checklists and quality audit procedures.
10. Site execution quality monitoring experience is required.
