Job Title: Business Head – Canada (Formulations Business)
Job Location: India (Hyderabad), incumbent may have to relocate Canada based on business requirement.
Reporting To: Executive Director
Job Summary The Business Head – Canada will be responsible for driving the end-to-end business strategy, commercial growth and profitability of the company's formulations business across the Canadian markets. The role involves managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, leading contract negotiations, portfolio expansion, regulatory alignment and cross-functional coordination with R&D;, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute business strategy for the Canadian formulations markets.
- Identify new customers including Generic pharmaceutical companies
- Specialty pharma companies
- Branded generics companies
- Contract Development & Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs)
- Marketing partners
- Drive licensing, out-licensing, contract manufacturing, and strategic partnerships.
Key Account Management
- Manage strategic relationships with existing customers.
- Lead annual business reviews.
- Grow revenues from existing accounts through new product introductions.
- Resolve commercial issues and improve customer satisfaction.
Market Expansion
- Analyze market trends, patent expiries, competitor pipelines, and product opportunities.
- Identify high-value ANDA and 505(b)(2) opportunities.
- Build long-term market entry strategies.
Commercial Leadership
- Own annual revenue, profitability, and market share targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts and business plans.
- Negotiate pricing, supply agreements, confidentiality agreements, and long-term contracts.
Portfolio Management
- Work closely with R&D; and Regulatory teams on:
- Product selection
- Pipeline prioritization
- Technology transfers
- Lifecycle management
- Recommend recent product additions based on market demand.
Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs for:
- ANDA filings
- Product approvals
- Site approvals
- Customer documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Collaborate with:
- Manufacturing
- Supply Chain
- QA/QC
- Regulatory Affairs
- Finance
- Legal
- Project Management
- Ensure timely execution of customer commitments.
Strategic Planning
- Prepare annual business plans and budgets.
- Present growth strategy to executive leadership.
- Develop long-term expansion roadmap for Canadian market.

Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Chemistry or Engineering.
- MBA in Marketing, International Business, or General Management preferred.
Experience
- 18–25 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
- At least 10 years in international business development.
- Strong experience in Canadian formulations markets.
- Experience in generic pharmaceuticals, injectables, oral solids, or specialty formulations.
- Demonstrated success in leading commercial teams and managing P&L.; Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates from organizations involved in regulated markets, Canada, with experience in formulations manufacturing, generic pharmaceuticals, or CDMO businesses.
Travel Requirements
- 30–50% international travel.
- Frequent visits to customers across Canada.
- Willingness to relocate to Canada.
- Participation in international pharmaceutical conferences and customer meetings.
