People & Careers Banner CEO Andreas Bawart Concludes UK Visit Ahead of Retirement Published: June 26, 2025 Author: James Lockwood Banner Power Company's Andreas Bawart Honoured During Farewell Visit to UK. | Image: Banner Banner GB has marked the retirement of Andreas Bawart, CEO of Austria-based Banner Group, with a farewell visit to the company’s Staffordshire headquarters. The event formed the final stop of Bawart's international farewell tour, drawing a close to his long-standing operational leadership of the family-owned battery business.
Celebrating Three
Decades of Leadership Bawart's retirement follows over 30 years of service at the helm of Banner – The Power Company, which he co-led with his cousin, Technical Director Thomas Bawart. While stepping down from day-to-day management, both will continue their roles as shareholders and maintain their involvement in strategic company oversight. During the UK visit, the Banner GB team welcomed Andreas Bawart to their head office and warehouse. Celebrations included a traditional English dinner, where Country Manager Lee Quinney presented Bawart with a personalised engraved hip flask to commemorate the occasion. Cricket, Keepsakes and Farewell Traditions The farewell continued with a visit to London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground, hosted by Richard Shortis, Managing Director of The Shortis Group. The event included lunch at the historic Lord’s Tavern and a T20 Vitality Blast match between Middlesex and Kent Spitfires, where Bawart was gifted Lord’s memorabilia in recognition of his contributions to the industry. Commenting on the occasion, Lee Quinney noted Bawart’s lasting influence: "Over the last ten years of my stewardship of Banner in the UK,
Andreas has been a constant source of support to both the team and our business development journey."
