Position: Simulation Engineer (TT58ST RM 4159)

Responsible for developing and analyzing factory simulation models using DELMIA to optimize production flow, material handling, and resource utilization. Supports capacity planning, layout design, and process improvement by evaluating throughput, cycle time, and bottlenecks. Works with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decisions and digital manufacturing initiatives

Candidates should heave experience with Delmia Domain, DES Factory simulation, Robotic Simulation 3D Exp

Overall responsibilities and duties:
The main missions of the role are:

- Develop and maintain factory flow simulation models using DELMIA (3DEXPERIENCE) to represent production lines, assembly systems, and internal logistics.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and material flow, including cycle times, throughput, resource utilization, and bottlenecks to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform what-if scenario simulations to evaluate production capacity, layout changes, workforce allocation, and logistics strategies.
- Identify and optimize bottlenecks, line balancing, and system constraints to enhance productivity and reduce cycle time and WIP.
- Model and simulate material handling systems such as conveyors, buffers, and AGVs to ensure smooth and efficient flow.
- Validate simulation models using real production data (MES/ERP/time studies) to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Support factory layout design and optimization, including greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring efficient space utilization and flow.
- Create and maintain digital twins of manufacturing systems to support virtual validation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Qualifications




Minimum education level: Bachelor s degree in: Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Mechatronics

Skills and competencies
Simulation & Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Discrete Event Simulation (DES)
- Hands-on experience with:
o DELMIA / 3DEXPERIENCE Flow Simulation
o Build complex factory simulation models
o Define logic for processes, resources, and flows
o Cycle time analysis
o Throughput calculation
o Queue and buffer behavior

2. Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Knowledge
o Production systems & assembly lines
o Line balancing
o Takt time calculation
o Automotive or discrete manufacturing processes

3. Material Flow & Logistics Understanding

- Solid understanding of:
o Material handling systems (conveyors, AGVs, forklifts)
o Intralogistics and warehouse operations
- Ability to:
o Optimize material routing and flow paths
o Identify logistics bottlenecks

4. Problem-Solving & Optimization Skills

- Strong analytical thinking
- Ability to:
o Identify system constraints and bottlenecks
o Perform root cause analysis
- Apply optimization techniques for:
o Throughput improvement
o Resource utilization
o DELMIA scripting or logic building
- Ability to automate simulation tasks and data handling
