Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Automotive CAD Design Engineer (Plastic, Trim), based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area. The engineer will design and develop plastic and trim components for automotive interiors and exteriors using industry-standard CAD tools, ensuring compliance with OEM and customer specifications. Daily tasks include creating 3D models and 2D drawings, performing packaging studies, optimizing designs for manufacturability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as R&D;, tooling, and production.

The role involves reviewing and updating designs based on feedback, supporting prototype builds, preparing technical documentation, and participating in design reviews and quality checks. The engineer will also coordinate with clients, adhere to project timelines,



and contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and standards.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong skills in automotive CAD design, specifically for plastic and trim components, including 3D modeling and detailed drawing creation.

Candidates should possess skills in product design and development, including knowledge of DFM/DFA, material selection for plastics, and basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding.

Candidates should possess skills related to engineering analysis and problem-solving, including the ability to interpret CAD/CAE outputs, tolerance analysis, and resolving design and packaging issues.

Candidates should possess skills in collaboration and communication, including transparent technical documentation, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and professional interaction with clients.

Candidates should possess skills in project execution, including time management, attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and ability to work independently under guidance from Subject Matter Experts.

Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or a related field, experience in automotive interior/exterior plastic and trim design, and familiarity with OEM standards.

Beneficial experience includes prior work with global automotive clients, exposure to prototype development, knowledge of GD&T;, and understanding of industry regulations and safety requirements.
