The role
Teach physics across B.Sc. with genuine laboratory instruction. Physics at undergraduate level lives or dies on whether the practical work is real — students who only ever see derivations do not become physicists, and they do not clear entrance examinations either.
Full-time, in office at Babatpur, Varanasi.
Responsibilities Subject teaching
Teach core UG physics: mechanics, waves and oscillations, thermodynamics and statistical physics, optics, electricity and magnetism, electronics, and modern and quantum physics
Teach mathematical physics and the analytical methods the subject depends on
Mentor students toward M.Sc., PhD, JAM, GATE, and teaching or research pathways
Laboratory
Run the physics laboratory — experiment design, apparatus maintenance and calibration, error analysis, and lab record assessment
Enforce laboratory safety protocol and maintain equipment inventory
Develop the practical curriculum so students leave able to take a measurement and defend it
Curriculum, assessment and department
Design and update course content to MGKVP syllabi under the NEP 2020 framework
Set and evaluate internal assessments aligned to MGKVP examination patterns
Contribute to departmental research output and to institutional academic and co-curricular activity Qualifications
Essential
M.Sc.
Physics from a UGC-recognised university
UGC NET or PhD in Physics — required for this appointment
Ability to teach at undergraduate level and to run laboratory practicals
Fluency in Hindi and English — students come largely from Purvanchal and Bihar, and teaching is bilingual
Willingness to teach under the NEP 2020 multidisciplinary structure, where students combine subjects across streams
Preferred
Prior UG teaching with hands-on laboratory responsibility
Experience setting up or commissioning a physics laboratory
Electronics and instrumentation competence
Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools — Python, Origin, LabVIEW, or equivalent
Publications or research experience
Experience preparing students for JAM, GATE, or NET Remuneration
As per institutional norms, commensurate with qualification and experience. Discussed at interview.
