Tyres has announced the appointment of Mahalakshmi Ramaswami as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), following board approval. The leadership change comes as the tyre maker undertakes a broader organisational restructure to enhance its human capital strategy amid global expansion and competitive market dynamics.
Mahalakshmi Ramaswami Takes Over
Global HR Role The board of Apollo Tyres approved Ramaswami’s appointment after a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. She assumes the role with immediate effect. Ramaswami most recently served as Head of HR for the Southeast Asia Cluster at Mondelez International, based in Singapore.
She brings over two decades of HR leadership experience across diverse industries, including FMCG, telecom, pharmaceuticals and consulting. Previously, she played a key role in business turnaround efforts as HR Director for Mondelez India, aligning talent strategies with commercial goals. Her career also includes HR leadership positions at Bharti Group, Ranbaxy, Ballarpur Industries and EY.
She holds an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Delhi University.
Management Restructure Includes
Exit from Senior Leadership In parallel with Ramaswami’s appointment, Apollo Tyres confirmed that Dipankar Ghosh, Group Head – HR Business Partnership for Manufacturing & Projects, will no longer be classified under the company’s senior management as per regulatory norms. His change in designation takes effect from 16 July.
