Deputy Manager Business Development

We're Looking For Someone Who Can Navigate Complex Government Deals

If you've spent the last 4-6 years convincing government agencies or public sector organizations to buy what you're selling, we should talk.

This isn't a job that fits neatly into a spreadsheet. You'll be the person who figures out what a customer actually needs (often before they do), pulls together the right people internally to solve it, and gets it across the finish line through procurement processes that would make most people's heads spin.

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

You're going to be out in the field a lotand I mean a lot. We're talking customer sites across India, some of them remote, some at challenging operational locations. You'll run product demos, facilitate trials, sit in meetings where everyone has a different agenda, and then somehow get the internal teams aligned to submit a tight proposal.

On any given week, you might be:

- Hunting for recent opportunities in the public sector space that nobody's noticed yet
- Juggling three different RFPs at various stages (someone's asking clarifying questions, someone else wants a revised commercial structure)
- Coordinating with our technical teams to make sure the proposal actually matches what we can deliver
- Building relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and gatekeepers (because government buying never has just one person involved)
- Watching what competitors are doing and spotting gaps

You'll own the full cyclefrom "we spotted an opportunity" all the way through contract signature. That means you need to be comfortable with procurement jargon, tender frameworks, and the peculiar logic of how government buyers think.

Who We're Looking For:

An engineer by training (Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentationsomething technical). You've got a solid B.E./B.Tech background and you actually use that knowledge when talking to customers.

You've spent 4-6 years in B2B business development. Ideally, you've already done this in government, aerospace, or a similarly complex selling environment. If not, you've at least worked with government procurement or tender processes.

Beyond the resume:

- You can present without notes and actually engage the room
- You know how to negotiate without killing the deal
- You manage stakeholders the way a conductor manages an orchestra
- You're analytical enough to build credible pipelines and forecasts
- You actually want to travel; remote isn't an option for this role

Nice to Have:

- An MBA
- Direct experience winning government contracts or managing bids
- Familiarity with CRM systems and standard Office tools
- A track record with large, strategic accounts

What Success Looks Like:

You're running customer meetings and field trials regularly. Your pipeline is healthy and realistic. Proposals go out on time and actually win. The technical teams say you clearly understood their constraints. Your colleagues trust you to represent them in customer conversations.
