Role Description The Academic Counsellor at TechPaathshala will guide prospective and current learners through academic and career pathways aligned with the institute’s tech programs.
Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, understanding learners’ goals, recommending suitable courses, and supporting them throughout their training journey. The role involves collaborating with trainers and administrative staff, maintaining accurate counseling records, and contributing to student engagement and retention initiatives.
The Academic
Counsellor will also assist with orientations,
information sessions, and follow-ups with learners and their families to ensure clarity on program structure and outcomes. This is a full time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in selecting and progressing through appropriate programs.
Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and internal teams.
Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to guide learners on job readiness, industry expectations, and long-term career planning.
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education principles to understand learning needs and outcomes.
Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field).
Experience in academic or career counseling, preferably in tech or professional training environments.
Ability to work on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, manage multiple learner cases, and use digital tools for tracking and communication.
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a learner-centric approach; familiarity with tech career pathways is an advantage.
