Role Description The Academic Counsellor role at ICE Career Connect is a full-time, on-site position based in Patna.

The Academic

Counsellor will provide one-on-one and group counseling to students on academic pathways, course selection, college admissions, and career planning. Daily responsibilities include assessing student interests and strengths, explaining available programs and opportunities, guiding students through application and documentation processes, and maintaining accurate counseling records. The role involves coordinating with educational institutions and internal teams, conducting workshops or information sessions, and following up with students to track progress and outcomes.

Counsellor is expected to maintain a professional, empathetic approach and uphold the organization’s student-first values.

Qualifications Strong counseling and guidance skills, with the ability to assess student needs and recommend suitable academic and career pathways.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including transparent spoken and written English and the ability to build trust with students and families.

Organizational and administrative abilities, such as managing student records, tracking applications, and handling multiple cases simultaneously.

Knowledge of Indian education systems, admission processes, and current trends in higher education, internships, and employability skills.

Proficiency with basic computer applications, online research, and digital communication tools used for student support.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Career Counseling, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or relevant certification is an advantage.

Prior experience in academic counseling, student services, or education management is preferred.

Ability to work on-site in Patna, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and maintain a student-centered, non-discriminatory approach.
