Senior Designer Menswear (Knit)

Job Profile:

We are seeking a commercially savvy Senior Menswear Knitwear Designer to lead our fast-paced high-street collections. This role requires a unique hybrid skill set: deep technical expertise in fully fashioned knitwear combined with a strong background in graphic design and print placement for cut-and-sew jersey (T-shirts, polos, and sweats).

Key Responsibilities

1. Trend Translation & Fast-Fashion Strategy:

Rapidly analyze and react to global street-style, social media, and competitor trends to deliver weekly newness and high-turnover product ranges. Create commercial, high-impact trend boards, color palettes, and product maps specifically optimized for the high-street menswear market. Pitch seasonal and fast-track injection ranges confidently to buying and merchandising teams.

2. Knitwear & Jersey Product Development

Design across both Knitwear (fully fashioned sweaters, cardigans, fine gauges) and Jersey/Cut-and-Sew (polos, heavyweight T-shirts, premium loungewear). Maintain solid fundamentals in knit gauges, basic stitch structures, and cost-effective yarn alternatives (cotton blends, premium synthetics, and recycled yarns) to meet strict target margins. Conduct rapid fit and styling sessions, ensuring commercial blocks match the target demographic's aesthetic.

3. Graphic Design & Print Execution

Conceptualize and execute original placement graphics, typography, embroidery layouts, and all-over prints (AOP) for T-shirts and engineered polos. Develop specialized artwork for various high-street print techniques (e.g., screen print, puff print,



high-density, flocking, and digital printing) as well as yarn-dyed stripes and jacquards for polos.

Deliver production-ready graphic tech packs, including precise Pantones, scale measurements, and separation files for factories.

4. Sourcing, Speed-to-Market & Vendor Collaboration

Partner with vendors to maximize speed-to-market without compromising visual execution. Build highly accurate, clear tech packs to minimize sample rounds and counter-sample lead times. Engineer designs structurally and graphically to hit aggressive price points and high-volume margin targets.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Commercial apparel design, with a proven track record inside a high-street retail brand or a fast-fashion vendor environment.

Dual Design Expertise: Strong portfolio demonstrating an equal strength in menswear sweater design and commercial graphic design/placement prints for T-shirts and polos.

Software : Expert level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for apparel CADs and graphic separations. Experience with PLM systems.

Communication: Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to work hand-in-hand with Rapid-Fashion Buyers, Merchandisers, and international factories.

Strong typographic and layout eye tailored specifically to contemporary menswear apparel graphics.

Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple overlapping delivery drops and fast-track capsules.
