Role & responsibilities

The candidate should possess extensive experience in heavy engineering workshop operations and be capable of independently managing the complete functioning of the workshop.

The responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

- Overall management and administration of the workshop.
- Thorough knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and heavy engineering activities.
- Planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure timely execution of projects.
- Effective handling and supervision of contractual labour and workforce management.
- Ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in conducting and handling ISO audits and implementing Quality Management Systems.
- Coordinating and successfully handling inspections by clients, third-party inspection agencies, and consultants.
- Experience in dealing with RDSO, Indian Railways, and other government inspection authorities will be preferred.
- Monitoring productivity, cost control, material utilization,



and continuous process improvement.
- Coordinating with the Purchase, Planning, QA/QC, Stores, and Project Departments for smooth execution of jobs.
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and maintain excellent industrial relations.
- Sound knowledge of engineering drawings, fabrication codes, welding procedures, and quality documentation.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates having experience in any of the following industries will be given preference:

- Heavy Engineering
- Steel Plants
- Power Plants
- Railway & Metro Projects
- Structural Fabrication
- Pressure Vessel & Process Equipment Manufacturing

Qualification (preferred)

- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience,
OR
- Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience.
