Role Objective
The AVP/GM Finance will provide strategic financial leadership across corporate, development, and property management functions. The role will oversee financial planning, reporting, compliance, systems, and controls while partnering closely with business leadership to drive profitability, governance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Finance & Governance
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on financial implications, risks, and key business decisions.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure timely preparation and presentation of quarterly, interim, and Board-level financial reports.
- Drive strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and compliance across the organization.
- Manage statutory, internal, and external audits, ensuring timely closure with no major observations.
- Lead group-level reporting and ensure alignment with centralized finance processes and systems.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing finance and accounting team.
2. Systems & Process Excellence
- Lead SAP S/4HANA implementation (PS, MM, FICO modules) across departments.
- Oversee stabilization and optimization of Yardi for Property Management.
- Review, redesign, and implement robust financial, accounting, and reporting processes to support scalability and transparency.
3. Development & Property Management Finance
- Review and monitor project cost plans, budgets, and cash flows at various stages of design and execution.
- Partner with commercial teams on tender documentation, pre-bid estimates, BOQs, and contractor shortlisting.
- Monitor construction/project costs, WIP, and cost variances; analyze deviations between budgeted and actual costs.
- Manage working capital requirements, including mobilization advances, retention money,
and contract cash flows.
- Assess financial impact of project delays, extensions of time, variations, and extra works.
- Support final account settlements and assist in drafting financial clauses and agreements related to project completion.
- Ensure solid financial oversight of operations within SPVs and alignment with overall finance strategy.
4. Taxation & Compliance
- Finalize direct and indirect tax positions in consultation with tax advisors.
- Advise on alternate business models and supply chain structures to optimize tax efficiency and minimize risk.
- Ensure robust documentation supporting corporate tax and withholding tax positions.
- Oversee compliance, filings, and reporting for all applicable tax laws and regulations.
5. MIS, Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and drive advanced MIS, dashboards, KPIs, and scenario analysis for management decision-making.
- Deliver deep financial analysis by drilling down to transaction and workflow levels.
- Present clear, insightful financial narratives to senior management and stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- IFRS / IND-AS exposure preferred
Experience:
- 8-10 years of overall experience ( Age Limit - 32 Yrs only)
- Experience working in an institutional or professionally managed platform
- Exposure to reporting to multiple stakeholders (Boards, investors, lenders, auditors)
Industry:
- Open (Real Estate / Infrastructure exposure preferred)
Technical & IT Skills
- Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (PS, MM, FICO).
- Advanced MS Excel (Macros, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA preferred).
- Strong data analytics, financial modelling, and dashboarding skills.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint for senior-level presentations.
