Role & responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Oversee Accounts Payable processes, including vendor invoice processing, weekly unpaid AP reporting, and banking reports.
- Prepare and reconcile Revenue-to-Cash reports through daily review of Final Audit Reports and Night Audit Reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Review, code, upload, and process invoices in accordance with USALI standards while coordinating approvals with hotel management.
- Monitor and explicit bank feeds and perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
- Track chargebacks and communicate potential issues promptly to management.
- Record payroll journal entries at the conclusion of each payroll cycle.
- Allocate shared operating expenses across departments in accordance with established accounting policies.
- Prepare and analyze Budget vs. Actual performance reports to support management decision-making.
- Record month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization, sales tax discounts, and other required adjustments.
- Maintain and verify accounting records related to property taxes, mortgage payments, franchise fees, and other recurring obligations.
- Reconcile and balance Guest Ledger, City Ledger/Direct Bill,
Advance Deposits, and Payments in Transit during month-end close.
- Conduct detailed reviews of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit Balance Sheet reconciliations and monthly financial reports within client-established deadlines.
- Collaborate with auditors, controllers, and management teams by providing financial schedules, supporting documentation, and requested analyses.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and hospitality industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of USALI, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, and Month-End Close processes.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other hospitality accounting systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet strict deadlines.
Work Schedule: Night Shift; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST (Mon to Fri)
Work Arrangement: Remote / Work From Home
