You'll report to department & functional managers, The engineering design of projects spanning across sectors such as Oil, Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Renewable Fuels, Decarbonization, and Carbon Capture. And these projects aren't limited to a local scale; they are positioned globally, reflecting our worldwide impact.

You'll be a part of our vibrant Oil, Gas, and Chemicals (OGC) Global Practice, a thriving collective of around 500+ professionals. This dynamic group lives and breathes engineering, procurement, and construction projects across various industries - Refining, Midstream & Logistics, Petrochemical, and Chemicals.

Your responsibilities would be:

- Performing assigned project execution activities focusing on quality, budget and schedule KPIs
- Functioning as lead/ area lead designer for medium sized projects
- Intra / inter discipline co-ordination to execute projects tasks
- Preparing project execution plans, RACI matrix, QC review matrix, manhour estimation
- Doing scheduling, project progress monitoring, change management, risk management, resource planning, MTO estimating etc.
- Preparing standard discipline deliverables such as cable tray size calculations, models, preliminary sketches and drawings
- Reviewing design inputs for adequacy




- Identifying and using appropriate design tools for efficient execution of project tasks
- Doing preparation of 3D model for projects, conducting self-check and maintaining the model for its correctness and doing housekeeping from time to time
- Doing modelling activities for fabrication & vendor drawing information
- Doing activities performed in brownfield projects, including handling battery limits, tie-in design, field verification, inter-unit dependencies and coordination with as-built documentation and laser scan
- Doing vendor documents review
- Resolving site queries and RFIs
- Effectively deploying BMI quality system, use of BMI database of previous projects and application of positive engineering practices related to I & C discipline work including adherence to applicable codes and standards
- Team review of deliverables/ model prepared by other disciplines
- Doing participation in various design reviews (model review, constructability review etc.) on behalf of BMI I&C; department
- Ensuring designs are safe, of the highest quality and of the best value for the client
- Providing technical guidance to less experienced personnel
- Recognizing the contributions of team members




- Contributing actively towards knowledge sharing, standards development, work processes optimization, automation, innovation efforts, VMP ideas, and various department initiatives
- Being responsive to and communicating effectively with internal & external clients
- Disseminating safety awareness (especially safety in design)
- Promoting constructability awareness

The candidate should

- Diploma in Instrumentation, or Electrical branch from a reputed institution
- 12 - 15 years of relevant experience
- have working level knowledge of standard deliverables, work processes and good design/ drafting practices related to I&C; discipline work
- have working level knowledge of international codes and standards like ISA, PIP, API etc.
- have working level knowledge of hierarchy of activities / deliverables and input/output requirements
- have good command over English language both verbal and written
- be familiar with technical writing
- have working level knowledge of standard materials, methods of fabrication and construction related to I&C; discipline work
- have working level knowledge of AutoCAD, smartsketch & microstation, S3D, COMOS, Navisworks and MS Suite, etc.
- have working level knowledge of LFM and associated data files and formats
- be familiar with execution plan and quality management of projects
- have working level knowledge of roles played by other disciplines on projects
- be able to maintain regular, appropriate, and concise communication.
