JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: NPD Coordinator
Department: New Product Development (NPD)
Industry: Personal Care Manufacturing
Reports To: Director
1. Job Purpose
The NPD Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and driving multiple new product development and launch projects simultaneously. The role serves as the central point of coordination between internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure all project milestones are achieved within agreed timelines. The incumbent will provide regular project updates to the Director, proactively identify risks and delays, and ensure the successful commercialization of new products in line with business objectives.
2. Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and maintain a comprehensive NPD Project Tracker covering all ongoing and upcoming product launches.
- Submit daily and weekly progress reports to the Director.
- Highlight project risks, delays, dependencies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with all stakeholders to ensure timely completion of assigned actions.
- Prepare management presentations, launch status dashboards, and project summaries for review by the Director.
- Escalate critical issues that may impact launch timelines or business commitments.
3. Key Responsibilities
3.1 Project Coordination & Launch Management
- Coordinate multiple new product development projects simultaneously from concept to commercial launch.
- Develop and monitor detailed launch timelines and ensure adherence to agreed milestones.
- Coordinate with Quality, Procurement, Planning, Sales & Marketing, Regulatory, and external vendors to ensure launch readiness.
- Track artwork approvals, packaging availability, raw material readiness, regulatory approvals, product trials, and commercialization status.
- Organize NPD review meetings and ensure timely closure of action items.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and launch records in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company document control procedures.
- Ensure all stakeholders remain aligned with launch priorities and timelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Director and all departments involved in recent product development.
4. GMP Compliance
- Ensure all NPD documentation complies with GMP requirements and internal SOPs.
- Maintain version-controlled records for formulations, specifications, approvals, trials, and launch documents.
- Support audit readiness by ensuring complete, accurate, and traceable project documentation.
- Promote compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
5. Document Control
This Job Description shall be reviewed periodically or whenever there is a significant change in business requirements, organizational structure, or GMP/regulatory requirements.
