Urgent opening for the profile of Design and Engineering Head (pharmaceutical water, ultrapure water, and wastewater industries leads) at location Goregaon.

Industry: Pharmaceutical background with experience in Water System.

Experience : 20+ years

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor teams of process and design / Proposal engineers on complex projects, including ultrapure water (UPW), high-purity water, and wastewater treatment systems such as RO, EDI, UV, filtration, and degasification units.

2. Direct project phases such as feasibility, front-end engineering design, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational support for pharmaceutical and high-tech manufacturing environments.

3. Ensure designs meet international regulatory standards (USP, EP, SEMI, ISO) and client-specific protocols, with particular attention to safety, reliability, and contamination risk mitigation.

4. Oversee technical documentation deliverables like P&IDs;, process flow diagrams, mass balances, control philosophies, and tender documents for construction and procurement.

5. Drive innovation in digital engineering, modularization, water reuse, energy efficiency, and system automation. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies with R&D; and OEM partners.

6. Manage budgets, project timelines, and resources. Ensure stakeholder communication with clients, consultants, regulators, and internal management for alignment and timely delivery.

7. Provide technical support during installation, start-up, commissioning, and ramp-up.



Troubleshoot and optimize systems during operational transfer.

8. Represent the organization at industry technical forums, conferences, and in business development efforts by providing technical leadership in presentations and proposals.

Qualifications

1. Bachelors or master’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.

2. 15+ years of experience in process engineering for water and ultrapure water systems, ideally for pharmaceutical, industrial, or microelectronics clients.

3. Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering large EPC projects, including hands-on knowledge of water system design and validation in regulated environments.

4. Familiarity with process simulation and digital engineering tools (e.g., Aspen, WaterCAD) and best practices in water & wastewater treatment.

5. Robust project management, leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

1. Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, semiconductor and battery plants, data centers, and critical infrastructure requiring high-purity water and stringent contamination controls.
