Position Overview:
The Merchandise Officer will play a key role in fulfilling marketing requirements, ensuring stock availability, and managing store needs effectively. This position is responsible for overseeing the stock of gold jewelry, managing stock selection, issuing branch requisition requests, and ensuring proper stock distribution. The role also includes supporting the repair, polish, and damage management of stock, as well as ensuring timely supply of export and e-commerce products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fulfill Marketing Requirements:
- Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure merchandise aligns with promotional activities.
- Ensure the availability of required collections for campaigns and events.
- Collection Stock Management:
- Monitor stock levels for all collections to ensure timely availability.
- Handle the identification and movement of non-moving stock, particularly gold jewelry.
- Store Requirements & Special Requests Fulfillment:
- Address store requirements and special requests to ensure all needs are met promptly.
- Maintain good communication with stores to understand and fulfill their needs.
- Stock Management and Approval:
- Oversee stock approval processes and manage approval of stock requests.
- Ensure that stock levels align with business needs and standards.
- Gold Jewelry Stock Selection:
- Participate in the selection of gold jewelry for distribution, ensuring alignment with store needs and market demand.
- Requisition and Stock Distribution:
- Issue branch requisition requests to purchasing officers to ensure necessary stock levels.
- Ensure the accurate and timely distribution of stock to various branches.
- Supervisor Meetings & Requirement Fulfillment:
- Attend regular supervisor meetings to understand specific store needs and ensure timely stock fulfilment.
- Support NP Data Retention:
- Assist with the retention and management of NP (Non-Product) data for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Maintenance of Stock Standards:
- Maintain stock in accordance with company ideals and standards, ensuring it is well-organized and properly displayed.
- Repair, Polish, and Damage Stock Management:
- Oversee the repair and polishing of damaged stock.
- Ensure all damaged or faulty stock is identified, documented, and handled properly.
- Export & E-commerce Product Supply:
- Ensure timely and accurate supply of export and e-commerce products, coordinating logistics to meet delivery deadlines.
- MIS (Management Information Systems):
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of all stock activities.
- Provide timely updates to management on stock levels, movements, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in stock management, preferably in the retail or jewelry industry.
- Solid organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling and reporting.
- Familiarity with stock management software and MS Office.
- Knowledge of gold jewelry and its maintenance is an advantage.Role & responsibilities
