Job Description: Senior Manager HR-Operations

Role Overview

The Senior Manager HR-Operations will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, aligning HR initiatives with broader business objectives while driving organizational change. This role demands a unique blend of strategic foresight and hands-on execution. You will oversee a comprehensive portfolio including compliance, payroll, employee lifecycle management, talent development, and HR automation, while leading a high-performing team.

- Reporting To: Business Operations Head
- Team Size: 8+ direct/indirect HR professionals

- Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

- Align HR operations, initiatives, and workflows directly with quarterly and annual business goals.
- Partner with business leaders on workforce cost optimization, headcount forecasting, and strategic manpower planning.
- Drive at least two major cross-functional organizational change initiatives annually to support hyper-growth phases.

2. Compliance, Payroll & Risk Management

- Lead the annual policy review and revision process to maintain a strict, SOP-oriented work culture with zero compliance gaps.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, final settlements, statutory deductions, and payroll audits.




- Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, statutory audits, inspections, PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, and Shops & Establishment requirements.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate people-related, operational, legal, and compliance risks across the organization.

3. Employee Lifecycle & Engagement

- Supervise employee onboarding journeys, aiming for exceptional new-hire experiences and keeping the 90-day attrition in at lower rate.
- Establish and monitor robust employee query management systems and service delivery standards.
- Drive employee communication, recognition programs, culture-building activities, and engagement initiatives.
- Directly step in to handle complex employee relations and act as a neutral consultant during high-risk organizational disputes.

4. Compensation, Advantages & Vendor Management

- Manage corporate compensation structures, benefits administration, insurance programs, and the annual salary review process.
- Oversee external HR vendors, including Background Verification (BGV), payroll partners, insurance brokers, HRMS providers, compliance consultants, and training partners.

5. Team Leadership & Performance Culture

- Foster an internal team culture built on psychological safety, collaboration, accountability, and daily alignment.
- Provide trainig, regular coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to groom future leaders within the HR team.
- Manage the end-to-end Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) framework utilizing objective criteria, weekly milestones, and unbiased evaluation.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews, ensuring all team members meet or exceed their individual KPIs.

6. HR Automation, Analytics & Governance

- Introduce process automation tools to eliminate operational bottlenecks and reduce manual processing time.
- Build and maintain database systems and executive dashboards to ensure high-level of data integrity.
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and periodic HR scorecards and dashboards to provide leadership with timely, actionable, data-driven insights.
