Primary Purpose: The Costing & Budgeting Specialist will play a critical role in the financial planning and management of our design and construction projects. This position requires a robust understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
A. Key Activities (Critical activities of the job)
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for various design and construction projects, considering materials, labor, and overheads.
- Budget Development: Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with project managers and design teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis on project budgets, identifying discrepancies and providing insights to improve cost efficiency.
- Reporting: Create and present financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and project status.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to gather relevant data for accurate budgeting and cost management.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing,
and regulations to inform budgeting processes and cost strategies.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement best practices for budgeting and costing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Prior Experience:
- Minimum 6+ years of experience and delivering responsibilities of Architectural role in real estate industry.
Expected Competencies/Personality Attributes:
- Proven experience in cost estimation and budgeting, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in budgeting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
