Role & responsibilities
1. Ensuring compliance with all fire safety laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
2. Developing and implementing the hospital Fire Safety Management Program.
3. Conducting regular fire risk assessments and hazard identification.
4. Ensuring operational readiness of all firefighting equipment.
5. Coordinating preventive maintenance of fire protection systems.
6. Conducting routine inspections of fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, pumps, and alarm systems.
7. Organizing fire drills and evacuation drills as per NABH requirements.
8. Training employees, security staff, and contractors on fire safety and emergency response.
9. Preparing and updating the Fire Emergency Response Plan.
10. Maintaining emergency evacuation maps and assembly point information.
11. Coordinating with the local Fire Brigade during inspections and emergencies.
12. Investigating fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
13. Maintaining all statutory records related to fire safety.
14. Monitoring contractor compliance with fire safety requirements.
15. Ensuring secure storage and handling of flammable materials and medical gases.
16. Participating in Disaster Management Committee meetings.

Conducting periodic safety audits and reporting findings.
18. Recommending corrective and preventive actions.
19. Ensuring availability and inspection of emergency exits and escape routes.
20. Coordinating mock drills with clinical and non-clinical departments.
21. Supporting accreditation activities related to fire and life safety.
22. Maintaining inventory and records of firefighting equipment.
23. Preparing monthly fire safety reports and compliance reports.
24. Liaising with statutory authorities for Fire NOC renewal and compliance inspections.
25. Promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 7 + years of experience in Fire & Safety management.
- Experience in hospitals or healthcare facilities.
- Knowledge of NABH standards, National Building Code (NBC), Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act (or applicable state regulations), and Disaster Management guidelines & Risk Assessment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Fire Engineering / Fire & Safety Engineering / Fire Technology from a recognized institution.
OR
- Bachelors degree with Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering with relevant experience.
