Position is based at Rabale, Navi Mumbai plant.

Shall be responsible for product quality of following products manufactured

- Electro Hydraulic Actuators
- Pneumatic Actuators

Product Quality to be achieved at all stages of manufacturing namely

- Incoming components Quality (Suppliers components)
- In Process Quality
- Final Product Quality
- Customer Complaints

Supplier’s Quality

Suppliers of Rabale and Chakan factory related to Actuators

a) Assessing the manufacturability of components.

b) Accessing the supplier’s capability to produce the components

c) Plan for gauges requirements

d) Data collection and analysis of Supplier’s Rejection and Rework.

e) Main contributor in the team for Supplier’s Rejection and Rework analysis on daily basis.

f) Why-Why analysis/ Root cause analysis/ suggest and implement solutions (CAPA) to

reduce the rejections.

g) Decide the process parameters and changes in the process if required for quality issues/ cost/ lead time aspects.

h) Update documents and train suppliers on changed process.

In Process and Final Product Quality

a) Lead the Operations Improvement Team to reduce the in-process defects.

b) Data collection and analysis of in-process Rejection and Rework on daily basis.

c) Why-Why analysis/ Root cause analysis/ suggest and implement solutions (CAPA) to

reduce the rejections.

d) Decide the process parameters and changes in the process for quality issues.

e) Update documents and train related persons on changed process.

Customer Complaints

Customer Complaints of Actuators manufactured at Rabale and Chakan.

a)



Lead the Customer Complaints reduction drive.

b) Data collection and analysis of customer complaints.

c) Root cause analysis/ 8D process with cross functional team to implement the CAPA to reduce the customer complaints.

d) Decide the process parameters and changes in the process for quality issues.

e) Update documents and train related persons on changed process.

Improvements approach

Improvements need to be implemented with proper tools and techniques like deployment of

APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning), DFMEA, PFMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis

(MSA), Machine and Process Capability Study, Control Plans, Product Part Approval Process

(PPAP), 8D Problem Solving Process, 7 QC Tools, Poka Yoke, 5S, Kaizen.

Process Knowledge

Excellent knowledge in Machining, Castings, Welding and Painting is highly essential to able to

do Root Cause Analysis of Supplier’s Rejections to ultimately enhance the Product Quality.

A) Machining of Al/ CS/ SS Castings, Al Extrusions, Welded CS/ SS parts, SS Shaft and CS Tubes.

a) Process sequence of machined parts

b) Fits and Tolerances, application of Jigs and Fixtures

c) Process capability of various machining processes like

i) Power Band Saw,

ii) CNC Turning/ Boring,

Machining on VMC/ HMC – Drilling, Reaming, Tapping, Milling,

iv) Cylindrical Grinding

v) Honing

d) Process parameters for machining

e) Concentricity, Oblong, Face runout, Flatness, Parallelism, Surface Finish

f) Defects and their remedies

B) Castings of Al Gravity/ Low Pressure Die Castings, Investment Castings (Al, CF8M, WCB),

SGI castings (20 to 1000 Kgs) and SS Castings.

a) Casting process and critical process parameters

b) Defects and their remedies

C) Welding of Carbon Steel and SS parts

a) Welding processes – Arc/ Mig welding

b) Critical aspects of welding processes

c) Welding defects and their remedies

d) WPS and PQR

D) Shot blasting and Painting of air cured epoxy primer and paint

Process knowledge in following processes is added advantage

a) Spring manufacturing (cold and hot rolled)

b) Hardening/ Vacuum Hardening of H series materials

c) Laser cutting

d) Plastic Moulding/ Rubber Moulding

e) Pickling, Anodising and various platings.

f) Testing – Radigraphy/ LPT/ MPI/ UT, Chemical/ Mechanical

Product Certifications

Knowledge of various certifications like IP, PESO, ATEX, PED, SIL is added advantage.

Coordination

Expect good coordination among other QA vertical namely

QA – QAP preparation, TPI, IMS System and Product Life Testing

Valuable verbal and written communication skills.

Exposure Industry having machine shop set up for Auto ancillary/ Hydraulic components

manufacturing.
