An asset management company is hiring an Equity Research Analyst for its Department of Investments, reporting to the CIO - Equity / Fund Manager - Equity.

Coverage: assigned sectors including Infrastructure, Capital Goods, Telecom, Energy and Materials. This is a sector-assigned role, not sector agnostic.

Key responsibilities:

- Fundamental research on assigned sectors covering business models, management quality, industry positioning, growth drivers, value chain and competitive landscape
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, project performance and evaluate intrinsic valuations
- Analyse financial statements, quarterly earnings and management commentary
- Prepare investment research reports, sector outlook notes and company recommendations for Fund Managers
- Monitor and update investment theses
- Track macro indicators, policy developments, global cues, and regulatory and technological shifts




- Interact with company management, IR teams, sell-side analysts and industry experts
- Attend investor calls, AGMs, analyst meets and conferences
- Maintain sectoral and company databases and prepare investment decks and internal notes for committee and board reviews

Technical skills: financial modelling, earnings forecasting, valuation across DCF and relative methods, familiarity with mutual fund and research regulatory frameworks, and working knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, Capitaline, ACE Equity, Excel, PowerPoint and data visualisation tools.

Candidate profile: 3-7 years of hands-on equity research, preferably within asset management, sell-side firms or investment advisory. Experience in a SEBI-regulated institution is desirable.
