OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
The Operations Supervisor is key in optimizing vessel schedules, stowage planning, monitoring
operational performance, and ensuring effective communication with partners and stakeholders.
This position is responsible for maintaining schedule accuracy, coordinating schedule
amendments, and providing valuable input for network deployment decisions.
Efficient and optimize of vessel stowage.
Responsible for creation of loading /unloading plans and maintaining the quality of the plans.
Plan and monitor vessels safe condition, in close coordination with vessel command
Minimize Restow (inefficient move of container rehandling)
Optimize cargo intake and establish max guaranteed intake on the deployed route.
Optimize trim and draft through optimal stowage always ensuring minimal fuel consumption for the
voyage
Monitor and validate requests for Out Of Gauge (OOG) special containers, Break Bulk cargo
Insure no hazardous materials are loaded without having been approved by the Dangerous Cargo
Desks.
Manage Change of Discharge request (COD).
Schedule Monitoring and Communication:
- Monitor the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of incoming vessels, providing regular updates to internal
teams and stakeholders.
- Communicate the vessel schedule, including departures and arrivals, to vessels and partners, ensuring
timely and accurate information sharing.
- Coordinate canal transit bookings (e.g., Panama, Suez) with local agents, ensuring smooth passage
and adherence to schedule.
- Responsible to update the schedule IT tool with latest ships update, ensure geofencing is accurate and
updated to ensure seamless automation on berth and unberthing time.
Schedule Maintenance and Performance:
- Trigger recovery actions to bring vessels back on schedule (e.g.,
Performance Standards Monitoring,
Vendor Compliance, collaboration with partners).
- Provide valuable input for Proforma design, schedule reviews, and overall performance improvement
initiatives.
- Monitor vessels speed performance through noon reports, address irregularities in noon report and
voyage departure reports (VDR). Ensure high data quality in reports
Coordination and Input for Network Deployment:
- Collaborate with internal teams to request speed-ups or slow-downs, considering operational
requirements and customer demands.
- Create voyage based on Long-Term Schedule (LTS) for mainline operations, including Vessel Sharing
Agreement (VSA) considerations.
- Communicate and update Long-Term Schedule with all stockholders.
- Coordinate schedule amendments related to bunkering and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to
operations.
- Provide schedule input for deployment changes, contributing to the optimization of network resources
and service levels.
- Close coordinate coastal schedules with port agent.
Team Supervision & Leadership:
- The Team Leader shall provide direct supervision, coordination, and performance management of the
Stowage Planning and Schedule Management team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable vessel
operations across the network.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities related to vessel stowage planning, schedule
monitoring,
vessel performance analysis, and network deployment.
- Assign workloads and priorities to team members, ensuring timely completion of stowage plans,
schedule updates, voyage creation, and operational reporting.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture that supports operational
excellence and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• High Diploma degree in business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in network execution, vessel scheduling, or similar roles within the shipping or
logistics industry.
• Strong understanding of vessel operations, schedule optimization, and performance monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vessels, partners, and agents
effectively.
• Proficiency in using scheduling IT tool, vessel tracking and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive schedule
improvements.
• Robust organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
• Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, responding to changing operational
needs.
