Job Description:
1. Business Growth Leadership
- Lead the departments strategic growth initiatives to expand the Rubber and Composite manufacturing portfolio, identify new market opportunities and support revenue growth.
- Provide strong departmental leadership by guiding cross-functional teams, aligning objectives with organizational goals and ensuring high performance, discipline, and accountability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understand their technical requirements and ensure timely resolution of concerns to enhance satisfaction and retention, drive expansion in manufacturing through effective team leadership and cross functional coordination.
- Provide technical inputs to the Estimation team for cost, process, and capability assessment.
- Develop yearly operational plans (Resource planning, budgeting).
2. Product Process Readiness
- Lead the department’s Current Product Development (NPD) initiatives by driving feasibility studies, prototype development, trials, and validation.
- Oversee process improvement strategy for the department by analysing existing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, reducing waste, and implementing best-practice manufacturing methods.
- Ensure equipment readiness by planning preventive maintenance, coordinating with Maintenance/Engineering teams, and validating machine capability for new and existing products.
- Drive productivity enhancement, cycle-time reduction, and efficiency improvement projects to support departmental KPIs and organizational goals.
- Monitor key NPD and process metrics, review performance with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely execution of improvement projects.
- Strengthen department capability through training, skill development, and adoption of new manufacturing and engineering practices.
3. Production Planning Excellence
- Lead development of new products in line with customer specifications and technical requirements (DRDL, ISRO, Boeing, IAI, HAL etc.).
- Lead and manage end-to-end production operations to ensure safe, efficient and quality-driven output.
- Oversee method engineering, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure standardised work practices across all production stages.
- Drive accurate production planning, capacity utilisation, scheduling and resource allocation to meet delivery timelines and cost targets.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, Design, Supply Chain and Business Development to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.
- Implement process excellence initiatives such as lean practices, waste reduction, productivity improvement and continuous improvement projects.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions to improve throughput, cycle time, and process reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards while enabling a culture of discipline, accountability and continuous improvement.
4. Resource Management & Compliance
- Lead effective utilization of manpower, materials, machines and tools to ensure uninterrupted operations. Plan capacity, allocate workload, monitor utilisation levels, and optimise resources to support production targets and cost efficiency.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply of raw materials, consumables, tools and outsourced services.
- Evaluate supplier performance, drive capability improvement, ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards, and support localisation or cost-reduction initiatives where required.
- Oversee inventory planning, material forecasting,
reorder levels and coordination with the supply chain to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and traceability of materials in line with quality and safety guidelines.
- Lead the safety culture within the department by enforcing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring all employees follow safe work practices. Support for audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and timely closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure the department complies with all statutory requirements, ISO standards, AS -9100, Nadcap, customer audits, and internal safety regulations.
- Maintain documentation, update SOPs, and implement continuous improvements to strengthen operational safety and compliance.
- Conduct regular training on equipment handling, emergency procedures, and safe operating methods to build a disciplined, safety-first workforce.
- Valuing the information received & effort spent in creating every piece of information. Ensuring the right information is accessed by right individuals. Ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information.
- Responsible for controlling the usage of energy sources for Environmental Protection and Energy Security for sustainable growth.
Qualifications Required:
Essential: Degree or Diploma in Engineering
Preferred: Degree /Diploma - Polymer/Mechanical/Chemical/ Material Science.

Work Experience Required:
BE with 10 years or Diploma with 12 years of experience in Rubber and Composites manufacturing.
