We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Engineer (including Quantity Surveyor) for carrying out audit to verify quantity estimation, billing, cost control, contract administration, and project commercial activities. The role involves ensuring accurate measurement of work executed, timely verification of bills, material reconciliation, monitoring of project costs, and supporting the successful financial execution of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Quantity Surveying
- Verify the quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Verify quantities executed at site and reconcile with approved drawings.
- Verify detailed quantity estimates for project planning and execution.
- Identify quantity variations and maintain variation registers.
- Verification of joint measurement sheet.
Billing
- Verification of Running Account (RA) Bills and Final Bills for clients.
- Verify subcontractor and vendor bills based on actual work completed.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams for timely bill verifications.
Cost Control & Estimation
- Verify cost estimates and rate analysis for project activities.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and identify cost overruns.
- Support cost optimization initiatives.
Contract Management
- Review contract terms related to measurement, billing, and payment.
- Prepare variation orders,
extra item claims, and escalation claims.
- Assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
- Maintain contract documentation and correspondence.
Material Reconciliation
- Prepare reconciliation statements for key materials such as cement, steel, concrete, and reinforcement. Identify recoveries if any due to excess consumption.
- Monitor material consumption against theoretical quantities.
- Identify wastage and recommend corrective actions.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with site engineers, planning teams, consultants, and clients.
- Prepare periodic commercial and billing reports.
- Maintain measurement books (MB), quantity records, and billing registers.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Quality inspections
- Site visit to carry out quality inspection and identify any workmanship deviations.
- Verification of quality records and ensure compliance with IS for construction.
- Review of Non conforms tracker and action plan for the same.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil/ Electrical Engineering.
- Certification in Quantity Surveying (preferred).
- 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in billing and quantity surveying for construction or infrastructure projects.
- Comfortable with extensive travelling to client sites.
