Job Description

Responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine electrical systems onboard vessels and in shipyard projects. The role involves working on power distribution systems, generators, switchboards, control panels, and marine electrical equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and classification society requirements. The position requires coordination with engineering teams during ship repair, dry-docking, and vessel operations to ensure uninterrupted electrical functionality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine electrical systems
- Handle power distribution systems, switchboards, and control panels
- Inspect and service generators, motors, and electrical machinery
- Support installation and commissioning of electrical equipment onboard vessels
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in ship systems and equipment
- Ensure compliance with marine safety and classification standards
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Support dry-docking and ship repair electrical work
- Coordinate with mechanical and engineering teams for integrated systems
- Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 5 10 years of experience in marine or industrial electrical systems Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, control systems, and marine equipment Ability to read electrical drawings and technical schematics

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in ship repair, shipyard,



or offshore industry Knowledge of PLC systems and automation controls Experience working on vessel power systems and generators Familiarity with classification society standards (ABS / DNV / LR / BV)

Technical Skills Required
