Lead Fire & Safety (Site Operations)

SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATION

Job Family: Facility Management
Role: Lead – Fire & Safety
Reporting To: FM Manager / Cluster FM Head
Location: Mumbai (Multiple Sites)

SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY

The Lead – Fire & Safety is responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, fire safety, occupational health & safety, and emergency preparedness across assigned sites. The role drives implementation of safety SOPs, audits, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, contractor safety management, and sustainability initiatives to create a secure and compliant environment for residents, employees, visitors, and contractors.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

Fire & Safety Management

- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company safety standards.
- Maintain readiness of firefighting systems, equipment, hydrants, pumps, alarms, and emergency infrastructure.
- Conduct periodic inspections and preventive audits of fire & safety systems.
- Physical checks of all fire-fighting systems and ensure rectification of any defect

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

- Conduct fire and safety audits and track closure of observations.
- Implement SOPs, safety guidelines, and compliance frameworks across sites.
- Carry out risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for identified hazards.
- Monitor compliance with statutory licenses, certifications, and approvals.
- Check all logbooks/ checklist of firefighting system and sign-off on daily basis
- Witness PPM/ breakdown maintenance carried out by all inhouse team/ vendors and ensure correct procedure for PPM carried out as recommended by OEM.




- Ensure submission of Fire Form-B/ Renewal of fire NoC as required
- Coordinate and facilitate site inspection by Fire department as required.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

- Develop and implement emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Conduct mock drills, emergency simulations, and awareness programs.
- Lead incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Workmen & Contractor Safety

- Implement and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
- Ensure contractor and workmen compliance with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions.

Security Integration

- Coordinate with site security teams on access control, surveillance, visitor management, and emergency protocols.
- Monitor safety and security risks impacting site operations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain safety MIS, audit reports, incident reports, and compliance dashboards.
- Drive closure of audit observations and corrective actions within timelines.
- Track key safety metrics and recommend improvement initiatives.

Sustainability Initiatives

- Support environmental, sustainability, and resource conservation programs.
- Promote safe waste handling, energy conservation, and green practices across sites.




- Drive awareness around ESG and sustainability objectives at site level.

SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Qualification

- Degree / Diploma in Fire & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related discipline.
- Fire & Safety Certifications preferred.

Experience

- 8–15 years of experience in Fire & Safety, HSE, or Facility Management environments.
- Experience in residential townships, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, or large facilities preferred.
