Role Overview:

We are hiring a creative yet commercially driven Designer-cum-PD Merchant for a premier garment export house based in Noida. This dual-impact role bridges the gap between high-fashion concept design and practical product development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating global market trends and client briefs into sellable seasonal collections, developing tech packs, and working closely with sample rooms and buyers to ensure seamless execution from concept to order placement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Trend Research

- Track global fashion trends, seasonal color palettes, fabrics, trims, and silhouettes for international/domestic markets.
- Create trend boards, mood boards, concept presentations, and range plans for client meetings.
- Develop original CADs, print artwork, embroideries, and flat sketches using design software.

2. Product Development (PD) & Sampling

- Translate design concepts and client buyer briefs into detailed Tech Packs and spec sheets.
- Coordinate directly with the sampling room, pattern makers, and master tailors to execute initial prototypes, salesman samples, and buyer revisions.
- Sourcing new fabrics, trims,



embellishments, and washes from domestic and international vendors to support new developments.

3. Client & Merchandising Coordination

- Present new collections and sample developments directly to buyers and client buying agents.
- Costing & Feasibility: Partner with internal cost estimation and bulk merchandising teams to ensure designed styles meet buyer target price points without compromising design aesthetics.
- Maintain a structured tracking log for all sample submissions, buyer approvals, and modifications to hand over approved styles smoothly to the bulk production team.

Candidate Profile:

- Education: Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or Garment Manufacturing from a recognized institute (NIFT, Pearl Academy, NID, or equivalent).
- Experience: 3 to 10 years of core experience in product development and design within Apparel Export Houses or buying agencies (Woven/Knits exposure).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDraw.
- Robust technical understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fabrics, GSM, and printing/embroidery techniques.
- Hands-on knowledge of tech pack creation and garment specs.

- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication and client presentation skills; high commercial sense to balance design aesthetics with production budgets.
