Role Overview
As a Technical Account Manager, you will be the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor for one or more customers, helping them adopt, run, and optimize their cloud environment - across AWS, Azure, GCP, or any combination of these - in a secure, reliable, and cost-efficient manner. You will bridge the gap between the clients business and technical stakeholders and our internal engineering/DevOps teams, driving stakeholder alignment, managing incidents, and leading regular business and service reviews.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor for one or more clients, owning the overall health of their cloud environment.
- Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and effective use of core cloud services - compute, storage, databases, networking, containers, and serverless - on the client's cloud platform(s) of choice.
- Provide advocacy and strategic technical direction, helping plan and build solutions using standard methodologies and well-architected best practices, keeping the client's cloud environment operationally healthy.
- Act as a consultant for clients, understanding their business/operational needs and technical challenges to suggest innovative, cost-optimized solutions.
- Own end-to-end incident management for critical and high-priority issues - coordinate triage and escalation, drive timely resolution with the relevant technical teams, run root-cause analysis (RCA), and keep stakeholders informed throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Build and manage relationships across technical and business stakeholders - from engineers up to CxO level - ensuring transparency, trust, and alignment on priorities and outcomes.
- Plan and lead Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR) and Monthly Service Reviews (MSR) with customers, presenting performance metrics, cost and usage trends, optimization opportunities, and a forward-looking roadmap.
- Lead technical discussions with both client stakeholders and internal engineering/DevOps/Managed Services teams to define solutions for complex problems that may span multiple cloud services or platforms.
- Help plan for architectural enhancements and provide support for critical business engagements involving business stakeholders.
- Participate in regular cadence meetings with business stakeholders, helping them identify value propositions and suggesting enhancements for architectural resilience, security, and performance.
- Work closely with in-house teams to build use cases and proofs-of-concept that showcase recent and innovative cloud services to solve critical business problems
- Conduct capability walkthroughs, technical presentations, and periodic reviews with customers.
- Act as the escalation point for critical client issues, ensuring SLAs and customer expectations are consistently met.
Must Have:
- Bachelorer's/Master's degree with 8+ years of hands-on Infrastructure / Troubleshooting / Systems Administration / DevOps / Applications Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
- Robust working knowledge of cloud platform fundamentals - regions, availability zones,
edge locations, auto-scaling, and spot/reserved/committed-use pricing models - on at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with core cloud services across compute, storage, database, monitoring, and content delivery - for example, AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation), Azure (Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Monitor, Blob Storage, ARM/Bicep templates), or GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Storage, Deployment Manager).
- Conceptual knowledge of related services such as database migration, container orchestration (ECS/EKS, AKS, or GKE), storage/API gateways, and security & threat-detection tooling.
- Conceptual knowledge of DevOps and observability tooling: Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, New Relic, Nagios, Datadog, Chef/Ansible, etc.
- General concepts: landing zone setup, containers, serverless architecture.
- Working knowledge of incident management practices - triage, escalation matrices, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Experience planning and running structured business/service reviews (MBR/QBR/MSR) with customer stakeholders.
- External enterprise customer-facing experience as a technical lead, with strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in architecting, designing, and leading DevOps / cloud services engagements.
- Track record of ramping up quickly in an evolving and challenging role.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, incidents, and projects in a fast-moving environment.
- Proven track record of exceptional customer focus.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations (expected travel: up to 20%).
Good to Have:
- Exposure to more than one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) rather than a single provider.
- Understanding of cloud billing/consolidated billing constructs, cost management, and FinOps concepts and frameworks.
- Relevant cloud certifications - e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator/Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
