Job Purpose

To ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products and finished products meet approved quality standards, regulatory requirements and customer specifications. The employee will also maintain documentation and support compliance with cGMP, NSF, HACCP, ISO and applicable food-supplement regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control

1. Inspect and sample incoming raw materials and packaging materials.
2. Verify COA, specifications, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date and supplier details.
3. Coordinate or perform testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products.
4. Maintain sampling, testing and release records.
5. Conduct in-process quality checks during:
- Dispensing
- Blending
- Capsule filling
- Tablet compression
- Powder filling
- Bottle filling
- Labeling and packaging

- Check capsule/tablet weight variation, appearance, count, sealing, coding and label accuracy.
- Maintain retained samples of raw materials and finished products.
- Coordinate testing with external laboratories when required.
- Review test reports and immediately report any out-of-specification result.




- Approve or reject materials based on specifications and test results.
- Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of laboratory and production testing equipment.

Quality Assurance

1. Prepare, review and maintain SOPs, specifications, formats and quality records.
2. Review Batch Manufacturing Records and Batch Packing Records.
3. Approve line clearance before production and packing activities.
4. Ensure production activities are performed according to approved SOPs and cGMP requirements.
5. Review product artwork and labels for:
- Ingredient declaration
- Supplement facts
- Serving size
- Claims
- Warning statements
- Batch coding
- Country-specific regulatory requirements

- Issue final release approval for finished products before dispatch.
- Handle deviations, non-conformances, complaints, OOS results and CAPA.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Support internal, customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Maintain training records and provide GMP and hygiene training to employees.
- Monitor cleaning, sanitation, pest control, personal hygiene and environmental conditions.
- Ensure proper gowning, personnel movement and contamination-control practices within production areas. Internal audit observations have specifically highlighted the importance of controlling visitor gowning and segregation between uncontrolled and controlled areas.
