Role Overview

We are looking for a highly design-oriented Head of Product Development to lead the end-to-end product journey from concept to final execution. This role requires a strong blend of design sensibility, technical expertise, and commercial understanding, especially within soft home and toy categories.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end product development: concept design sampling production
- Translate design ideas, buyer briefs, and techpacks into commercially viable products
- Work closely with Design, BD, and factory teams to ensure smooth execution
- Evaluate and finalize fabrics, trims, and materials based on quality, cost, and functionality
- Ensure products align with global trends, buyer expectations, and brand positioning
- Oversee sampling process with robust attention to finish, detailing, and aesthetics
- Troubleshoot design and production challenges to maintain timelines and quality




- Optimize product costing while maintaining design integrity
- Guide team on making products more sellable and scalable

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Sampling turnaround time (TAT)
- Sample approval / conversion rate
- Product quality and finish standards
- Cost efficiency vs target margins
- Production issue rate / rework instances

Skills & Qualifications

- Strong experience in product development for soft home and/or toys
- Excellent design sense, taste, and understanding of aesthetics
- Deep knowledge of fabrics, materials, and construction techniques
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and execute techpacks accurately
- Understanding of how to make products commercially viable and scalable
- Experience working with factories, vendors, and sampling teams
