We are inviting applications for the role of Lease Accounting Analyst to join client Group's Lease Accounting function. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support one of Australia's largest and most complex lease portfolios, encompassing both property and non-property leases. You will be responsible for supporting lease accounting operations across month-end close, IFRS 16 compliance, lease reporting, forecasting, lease administration and business partnering activities. Working closely with Finance, Property and Operational stakeholders, you will help ensure accurate financial reporting, solid governance, audit readiness and continuous improvement across the lease accounting lifecycle

Role Summary

The Lease Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the end-to-end lease accounting function for client s Group, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, forecasting and administration of lease-related financial activities across a large and complex lease portfolio. The role supports month-end close, IFRS 16 compliance, lease accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, lease systems administration, business partnering and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring financial integrity, audit readiness and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. Lease Accounting is positioned as a dedicated finance tower supporting lease-related accounting, reporting, governance and business advisory activities.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

- Perform month-end close activities for lease-related accounts.
- Prepare and post lease accounting journals, accruals and adjustments.
- Support preparation of lease-related financial statements, disclosures and reporting schedules.
- Perform reconciliations of lease assets,



lease liabilities and related balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure lease accounting records are complete, accurate and audit ready.
- Support year-end and statutory reporting activities related to leases.

IFRS 16 Technical Accounting

- Support accounting treatment of leases in accordance with IFRS 16 requirements.
- Maintain lease liability and right-of-use (ROU) asset calculations.
- Assist in lease modifications, reassessments, renewals, extensions and terminations.
- Support technical accounting analysis for complex lease arrangements.
- Ensure accounting treatment remains aligned with clients policies and accounting standards.
- Assist with preparation of audit support and technical accounting documentation.

FP&A;, Budgeting & Forecasting

- Support budgeting and forecasting activities for lease-related expenses and liabilities.
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior-period performance.
- Analyse lease portfolio trends and cost drivers.
- Assist in preparation of rolling forecasts and planning submissions.
- Provide data and analysis supporting financial planning and business decision-making.
- Support lease-related reporting requirements for Finance and Operational stakeholders.

Operational Lease & Revenue Management

- Support administration of lease contracts and financial lease records.
- Monitor lease lifecycle events, renewals, amendments and terminations.
- Maintain lease schedules, supporting documentation and audit trails.
- Validate lease master data and contract information.
- Support management of lease-related revenue and payment activities where applicable.
- Ensure lease events are accurately reflected within lease accounting systems.

Systems Integration & Process Improvement

- Support lease accounting systems and related financial applications.
- Maintain data integrity across lease accounting and ERP platforms.
- Assist in system enhancements, process automation and workflow improvements.
- Participate in testing, UAT and implementation of lease accounting system changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and reporting effectiveness.
- Support initiatives focused on standardisation and simplification of lease accounting processes.

System Specialist Support

- Support system administration activities within lease accounting platforms.
- Maintain lease master data, user controls and reporting configurations.
- Investigate system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
- Provide user support and guidance on lease accounting tools and reporting functionality.
- Assist in maintaining a single source of truth for lease accounting information.





Management & Business Partnering

- Partner with business stakeholders to address lease-related financial queries.
- Provide support on P&L;, balance sheet, depreciation and lease accounting matters.
- Assist stakeholders in understanding lease-related financial impacts and business decisions.
- Support analysis of complex lease arrangements and financial outcomes.
- Provide reporting, insights and recommendations to support business performance.
- Contribute to optimisation of lease-related financial results and portfolio performance.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with client s accounting policies, governance frameworks and internal controls.
- Support external and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain process documentation, SOPs and control evidence.
- Identify control gaps and support remediation activities.

Ensure data quality, completeness and reporting integrity across lease accounting processes

Qualifications

Essential

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and reporting processes.
- Experience working within Financial Control, Record-to-Report, General Ledger, Controllership or Finance Operations environments.

Preferred

- CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience with SAP, OneStream or similar ERP and reporting platforms.
- Exposure to financial close, reconciliations, consolidation or controllership activities.
