Role & responsibilities

- Administer and maintain Postgre SQL database clusters in production and development environments.
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
- Implement security policies and procedures for database access.
- Automate routine tasks using scripts or tools.
- Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Handle backup and recovery processes using tools like pgBackRest, WAL-G, etc.Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support database-related needs.
- Plan and execute database upgrades and patching with minimal downtime

Preferred candidate profile

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration for PostgreSQL database
- Robust knowledge of replication (streaming, logical), partitioning, and indexing.




- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools and extensions (pgAdmin, pgbouncer, pg_stat_statements, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Linux system administration.Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Experience in projects handling big volumes of data
- Experience in database normalization, indexing, and performance tuning techniques.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) is a plus.
- Experience in SQL programming in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Postgre SQL shall be an added advantage
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
