Job Description: ETL Tester

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented ETL Tester to validate and ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in ETL tools, SQL, and data warehousing concepts, with experience in testing large-scale data pipelines across diverse domains.

Key Responsibilities

- Data Validation: Verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency between source and target systems.
- ETL Workflow Testing: Test extraction, transformation, and loading processes across multiple environments.
- SQL Querying: Write complex queries, joins, and stored procedures for validation.
- Performance Testing: Assess ETL job efficiency, scalability, and load handling.
- Error Handling: Identify and resolve data mismatches, duplicates, and transformation issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and QA teams to ensure data quality.
- Documentation:



Maintain test cases, defect logs, and validation reports.

Required Skills & Experience

- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, etc.).
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables).
- Familiarity with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl) for automation.
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Cognos) for validation reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to healthcare, finance, or retail domains where compliance is critical.
- Awareness of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience with MLOps or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data pipeline testing.
