Reports To: Lead Risk Catastrophe Analyst / Exposure Management Lead
Role Purpose
Support catastrophe modelling, exposure management and underwriting activities while independently handling complex portfolios. Act as a subject matter expert for specific lines of business and provide guidance to junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities
Catastrophe Modelling & Analytics
- Perform end-to-end catastrophe modelling for Property, Energy, Cyber, Marine and Reinsurance portfolios.
- Execute portfolio aggregation, accumulation monitoring and scenario testing.
- Analyze model outputs and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Produce exposure reports, portfolio dashboards and management information.
- Evaluate portfolio concentrations and aggregation risks.
- Support pricing and underwriting decisions through risk analytics.
Team Support & Operational Excellence
- Support junior analysts and provide technical guidance.
- Review work performed by junior resources.
- Handle day-to-day stakeholder queries and service requests.
- Ensure timely delivery against SLAs and operational targets.
- Participate in quality assurance and process improvements.
Underwriting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with underwriters and exposure managers.
- Explain modelling assumptions, limitations and analytical findings.
- Support portfolio monitoring and business reporting requirements.
Data Quality & Policy Interpretation
- Interpret policy language and convert policy structures into model assumptions.
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation and quality control checks.
- Investigate data anomalies and modelling variances.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical
- 3-8+ years of catastrophe modelling experience.
- Hands-on expertise with tools like:
- RMS
- AIR/Verisk
- TigerEye
- Sequel Impact
- SQL
- Advanced Excel
Domain
- Solid understanding of exposure management principles.
- Experience with Property and at least one complex line (Cyber, Energy, Marine or Reinsurance).
- Knowledge of policy structures, limits, deductibles and treaty arrangements.
Professional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior analysts and review deliverables.

Preferred Experience
- London Market, Lloyd's or Global Specialty Insurance experience.
