Subject Matter Expert Web Development
Purpose of the Role
Drive continuous improvement of web development programs by identifying and resolving curriculum gaps, content issues, and tooling defects while ensuring a high-quality learner experience.
This role combines academic expertise with practical software development knowledge to strengthen curriculum quality, improve learning platforms, and support scalable program delivery.
The role acts as a technical and academic subject matter authority, bridging curriculum, technology, and learner needs.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Curriculum Improvement & Content Excellence
- Own continuous review and enhancement of web development curriculum across programs.
- Identify and resolve curriculum gaps, inaccuracies, outdated concepts, and learning experience issues.
- Collaborate with Learning Managers and academic stakeholders to improve content quality and learner outcomes.
- Design, review, and validate learning materials, projects, assessments, and practical exercises.
- Ensure curriculum reflects current industry practices, tools, frameworks, and development standards.
- Support creation of new content, modules, and learning resources where required.
Tooling & Platform Bug Resolution
- Identify, investigate, and resolve curriculum-related and platform-related issues affecting learners and experts.
- Act as the first line of technical analysis for tooling defects impacting learning delivery.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to define, prioritize, and validate fixes.
- Perform testing and quality checks for curriculum and platform updates before release.
- Maintain documentation of recurring issues, root causes, and recommended improvements.
Program Research & Innovation
- Research emerging web development technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
- Recommend curriculum enhancements based on market demand and evolving technology landscapes.
- Support modernization of programs to maintain industry relevance and learner employability.
Secondary Responsibilities
Technical Academic Support
- Provide subject matter expertise on frontend and backend development concepts when required.
- Support expert teams in resolving complex technical queries and academic escalations.
- Review technical assessments, projects, and learner submissions as needed.
Delivery & Operational Support
- Provide support during live sessions, workshops, and bootcamps when required.
- Assist in managing academic escalations related to curriculum or technical content.
- Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving learner experience and program effectiveness.
