Job Title: Plumbing Design Engineer (Full Time)

Job Location: Vasant Kunj, Delhi / Ranchi Jharkhand

Job Summary

A Plumbing Design Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing plumbing systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This includes water supply, drainage, stormwater, sewage, gas piping, fire protection, and sustainable water systems while ensuring compliance with IS codes, NBC guidelines and other relevant statutory norms applicable in India.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

- Prepare plumbing system designs (water supply, drainage, stormwater, sewage, gas, firefighting etc).
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe and equipment sizing.
- Develop detailed design drawings using CAD/Revit MEP.
- Create system layouts, schematics, and isometric drawings.
- Design pumping systems and water storage solutions.
- Coordinate plumbing systems with HVAC, electrical, and structural disciplines.

Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare DBR
- Prepare technical specifications and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and international standards (e.g., NBC, IS, IPC, UPC, ASHRAE guidelines).
- Review contractor shop drawings and material submittals.
- Provide technical support during tendering and procurement stages.

Project Coordination

- Attend design review meetings and site coordination meetings.




- Conduct site inspections to ensure installation meets design intent.
- Resolve technical issues during construction.
- Support commissioning and testing activities.

Sustainability & Efficiency

- Design water-effective and sustainable systems (rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling).
- Integrate green building standards (LEED, WELL, etc.).
- Optimize systems for energy and water conservation.

Qualifications Education

B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

- 5 to 10 years of experience in plumbing system design (depending on level).
- Experience in commercial, residential, hospital, or high-rise projects preferred.
- Working or having prior experience in building construction Government/Private projects executed in EPC mode (such as Medical College, Sports University, Hospital, etc.) will be preferred.
