Clinical Care
- Perform rapid initial assessment of patients as per triage guidelines.
- Take detailed clinical history and conduct physical examination.
- Assist in stabilization of critically ill patients (airway, breathing, circulation).
- Manage common emergencies under the supervision of senior staff.
- Provide bedside care, vitals monitoring, and patient reassessment.
- Assist in emergency procedures such as:
- IV cannulation, blood sample collection
- Catheterization and NG tube insertion
- Wound cleaning and basic suturing (under supervision)
- Splinting and first-line trauma care
- ECG recording and interpretation (basic level)
- Observe and support advanced procedures performed by consultants (intubation, central line, chest tube, etc.).
B. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate case sheets, progress notes, treatment charts, and MLC documentation.
- Prepare admission notes, transfer summaries, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure timely updating of electronic medical records (if applicable).
C. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, ICU, and wards for tests and patient transfers.
- Communicate patient status and investigation results to consultants promptly.
- Counsel patient attendants regarding basic clinical updates (under supervision).
- Ensure smooth communication with ambulance and triage staff.
D. Patient Safety & Protocol Compliance
- Follow triage protocols, emergency care guidelines, and infection control standards.
- Ensure timely administration of medication as per doctor's orders.
- Participate in code-blue/rapid-response calls and emergency drills.
- Adhere to NABH and hospital quality standards.
