Role & responsibilities

- Plan and execute strategic sourcing for MS/SS plates, structural steel, valves, and other required fabrication inputs in line with production and delivery schedules
- Develop and manage a reliable base of domestic vendors and international OEMs for critical bought-out components pumps, flow meters, filter water separators, nozzles, valves, gauges, and hose reels
- Lead procurement of imported OEM components from established global brands, including supplier qualification and long-term rate contracts
- Manage import procurement end-to-end documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and compliance with foreign trade regulations
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and contracts with vendors to optimise total cost of ownership without compromising quality or delivery timelines
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering and Production teams to align procurement with BOMs, technical drawings, and client-specific chassis/tank requirements
- Coordinate with the Quality team on vendor audits and supplier compliance with applicable standards (e.g., EI 1581, ISO 9001)
- Track purchase budgets, drive cost-saving initiatives, and conduct periodic vendor price benchmarking
- Maintain purchase records, PO tracking,



and vendor master data in the SAP system, and generate MIS reports for management review
- Build a resilient vendor base with qualified alternates for critical imported components

Preferred candidate profile

We are seeking a Purchase Manager to lead end-to-end procurement of raw materials, fabrication inputs, and imported OEM components for our manufacturing operations.

Experience: 10 to 15 years in Procurement/Purchase Management in related industries.

- B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering; is essential, MBA/PGDM in Materials & Supply Chain Management will be preferred.
- Working knowledge of international sourcing INCOTERMS, letters of credit, customs duty structures, and import documentation
- Robust negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills
- Proficiency in SAP systems for cost and spend analysis
- Prior experience sourcing components comparable to Gorman Rupp, Eaton Carter, FAUDI Aviation, Gammon, Armstrong, or Hannay Reels is an advantage
- Experience in organisations manufacturing aviation ground support equipment, pressure vessel/tank manufacturing.
