Zoho One Developer & Automation Specialist Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Zoho One Developer / Zoho Customisation and Automation Specialist to support the implementation, customisation and integration of our Zoho ecosystem.

The individual will work closely with HR, Finance and Management to understand business processes and convert them into efficient, automated and user-friendly Zoho workflows.

This is a project-based contract role for 2–3 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Zoho People Customisation

- Customise Zoho People according to organisational HR requirements.
- Configure employee lifecycle workflows.
- Automate onboarding and exit processes.
- Configure attendance, leave and approval workflows.
- Create custom fields, forms and reports.
- Support performance management and appraisal workflows.
- Build HR dashboards and reports.
- Configure employee data and organisational structures.
- Integrate Zoho People with other Zoho applications.

2. Zoho Payroll Implementation & Automation

The candidate will be responsible for configuring and customising payroll processes, including:

- Salary structure configuration.
- Earnings and deduction components.
- CTC and salary breakup.
- Attendance and leave-based payroll inputs.
- LOP and salary adjustments.
- Reimbursements and deductions.
- Salary revisions and arrears.
- Payroll approval workflows.
- Payroll reports and dashboards.
- TDS-related payroll requirements.
- PF, ESI, PT and other applicable payroll components.
- Full & final settlement workflows.
- Payroll integration with Zoho People and other relevant systems.

The candidate should be able to identify where standard Zoho Payroll features are sufficient and where customisation, automation or integration is required.

Zoho Payroll also supports salary templates, custom salary components, payroll approvals, formula-based components, custom functions, webhooks and custom schedulers depending on the plan and configuration.

3. Zoho CRM Customisation

- Create and customise modules.




- Build workflows and automation.
- Create custom functions using Deluge.
- Configure approval processes.
- Develop dashboards and reports.
- Automate lead, client and project-related processes.
- Integrate CRM with other Zoho applications.

4. Zoho Creator

- Develop custom applications where standard Zoho applications are not sufficient.
- Create custom forms and workflows.
- Build business process applications.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools.
- Automate data movement between applications.

5. Zoho Projects & Business Operations

- Configure project workflows.
- Automate project-related processes.
- Create project dashboards.
- Connect project data with HR, finance and CRM systems.
- Improve visibility of project and resource information.

6. Zoho Books / Finance Integration

- Support integration between Zoho Books and other Zoho applications.
- Automate finance-related workflows.
- Support expense and reimbursement processes.
- Build reports and dashboards.
- Ensure accurate data flow between business systems.

7. Zoho Cliq & Internal Communication

- Create automated notifications.
- Build workflow-based alerts.
- Integrate Cliq with HR and business processes.
- Automate significant employee and management notifications.

8. Integration & Automation

The candidate will be responsible for connecting Zoho applications and external systems using:

- Deluge scripting
- APIs
- Webhooks
- Zoho Flow
- Custom functions
- Third-party integrations
- Scheduled automation

The objective is to reduce manual work and improve data accuracy across the organisation.

Key Deliverables During the Contract

The selected consultant will be expected to:

Phase 1: Process Understanding





- Understand current business processes.
- Identify gaps and manual work.
- Document requirements.
- Prepare a customisation roadmap.

Phase 2: Development & Configuration

- Configure relevant Zoho applications.
- Build required workflows.
- Develop custom functions.
- Configure payroll processes.
- Build integrations.

Phase 3: Testing

- Conduct user acceptance testing.
- Identify and resolve bugs.
- Validate payroll calculations and workflows.
- Ensure data accuracy.

Phase 4: Training & Handover

- Train HR, Finance and relevant users.
- Prepare process documentation.
- Provide administrator training.
- Complete proper handover of all customisations and workflows.

Required Skills

Mandatory

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zoho customisation and development.
- Strong expertise in Deluge Scripting
- Hands-on with Zoho, Creator, Flow, Books, Inventory, Projects, People & Analytics
- Workflow Automation, Blueprints & Custom Functions
- REST API, OAuth, Webhooks & Third-party Integrations
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript & Client Scripts
- SQL & Database fundamentals
- Custom App Development in Zoho Creator
- Dashboard & Report Development (Zoho Analytics)
- Data Migration & System Integration
- User Roles, Permissions & Security
- Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization
- Experience with Zoho One enterprise implementations
- Good communication and requirement gathering skills

Preferred:

- Zoho Certified Developer
- Experience with AEC/Construction/Engineering domain
- Experience integrating Projects, People, Books, Inventory & CRM into a single ecosystem
