• Overseeing network performance and capacity
- Identifying potential network problems and alerting the correct personnel
- Diagnosing network errors
- Troubleshooting network issues
- Tracking and documenting network errors
- Creating incident reports
- Deploying a physical IT network
- Overseeing the installation of network hardware and cabling
- To provide all related information about incident/s.
- To collect and record information about the incident including the possible impact of the incident.
- To monitor the logs collected from clients log sources
- To monitor/analyze events and alert generated by the NOC tool/any other tool
- To notify and track incidents and incidents response activities undertaken
- To monitor Microfocus and respective supporting tools
- To undertake initial investigation and screening of potential incidents and escalate or close vents as applicable.
• To monitor NOC ticket (or email) tail for potential event reporting from outside entities.
- To maintain NOC shift logs with under activity from analyst shift.
• To document investigation results, including relevant details for final event analysis.
• To update changes to NOC process and procedure as well as ingest NOC daily reports (if any) and previous shift logs.
- To perform additional auxiliary responsibilities as communicated by respective authorities.
- Continuously monitor network devices, systems,
and services for performance, uptime, and security using network monitoring tools
- Detect network anomalies, outages, or irregularities and classify issues based on severity and impact
- Log network incidents and service disruptions, capturing relevant information and details about the reported problems
- Configure alerting and notification systems to ensure that appropriate teams are informed of network issues promptly
- Create and manage support tickets or incident reports for each issue, ensuring accurate and complete documentation
• Conduct initial troubleshooting steps, such as basic checks and tests, to determine the nature of the reported issues
- Escalate issues to Level 2 or Level 3 engineers when necessary, ensuring that more experienced team members handle complex problems
.• Communicate with respective stakeholders or end-users to
gather additional information about network issues and provide
initial support or guidance
- Assist users with basic access-related issues, such as password
resets and account lockouts
- Perform basic network device restarts or reboots to resolve
minor connectivity issues
- Provide explicit and concise shift handover reports to inform the
next shift of ongoing issues and resolutions
