Role Objective
To serve as a strategic advisor to Japanese multinational corporations (MNCs) entering or expanding in India. Candidate will bridge the gap between rigorous Indian labour regulations and Japanese corporate expectations, ensuring 100% compliance while facilitating smooth industrial relations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Compliance & Advisory

- Market Entry Support: Advise Japanese clients on the legal implications of various business structures in India (subsidiaries, branch offices, etc.) regarding labour laws.
- Policy Localization: Drafting and reviewing Certified Standing Orders, Employee Handbooks, and Letters of Appointment that align with both Indian law and Japanese corporate philosophy.
- Labour Law Reforms: Providing expert guidance on the transition from current laws to the Recent Labour Codes (Social Security, Industrial Relations, Wages, and OSH Codes).

2. Audits & Risk Management

- Conducting comprehensive Labour Law Compliance Audits (Statutory registers, returns, and displays) for Japanese manufacturing units and service centres.




- Identifying "hidden" risks in contract labour management and providing mitigation strategies.

3. Industrial Relations (IR) & Dispute Resolution

- Advising on complex terminations, disciplinary actions, and "Final Written Warning" protocols to minimize litigation risk.
- Representing or guiding clients through conciliation proceedings and interactions with Labour Commissioners.

4. Client Relationship Management

- Acting as the primary point of contact for Japanese Heads and Expats.
- Translating complex Indian legal jargon into simple, actionable business advice (often requiring the use of visual aids or structured reporting favoured by Japanese management).

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed university. Additional certification as a MBA in HR is a plus.
- Legal Expertise: Mastery over the Labour Codes, Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour (R&A;) Act, and POSH Act and procedures.
