Role: Platform Technical Analyst -Platform Engineering

Summary:

The Platform Technical Analyst provides hands-on technical analysis capability across platform teams, supporting the delivery, operation, enhancement and continuous improvement of business-critical technology platforms.

The teams and responsibilities include Enterprise Solutions Platform (ESP), Data Platform and Hybrid Cloud

Infrastructure (HCI), contributing to analysis, requirements definition, service improvement, incident and problem

resolution, change implementation and platform governance activities.

Initially, the primary focus will be supporting the Enterprise Solutions Platform (ESP), including Microsoft Power Platform

and Dynamics 365, however the role is expected to operate as a platform generalist with knowledge across the broader

technology landscape.

Working closely with architects, engineers, product teams, service management, business stakeholders and third-party

suppliers, the Platform Technical Analyst contributes to platform services being well understood, effectively governed,

continuously improved and aligned with business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Analyse business and technical requirements, define user stories and acceptance criteria, and contribute to

solution design across platform services in line with architecture, governance, security and operational

standards.

- Contribute to platform discovery and improvement initiatives, reviewing current-state capabilities (e.g. knowledge

management, tooling, integration patterns), providing analysis facilitating target-state recommendations alongside

platform leads, solution architecture and other stakeholders, and providing analytical input into product and

tooling recommendations.

- Contribute to problem management,



analysing root causes of recurring issues and supporting identification and

co-ordination of continuous improvements aligned to solution management, environment strategy and

ALM pipelines.

- Maintain accurate configuration data, documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles so that the platform can

be supported and evolved by the wider team.

- Work day-to-day with business users, product development teams and third-party partners; translating technical

details into clear, business-friendly language.

- Provide technical analysis support across Platform Teams including Enterprise Solutions, Data and Hybrid Cloud

Infrastructure, contributing to delivery, operational support and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support and co-ordinate opportunities to automate, simplify and strengthen platform processes, such as

deployment, monitoring, patching and recovery, contributing to continuous improvement of platform

capability.

Desirable

- Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200).
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (MB-910 / MB-920) or solution-area certifications relevant to in-scope D365

modules.

- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900).
- ITIL 4 Foundation.

Essential

- Solid requirements elicitation and structured analysis skills (workshops, process mapping, options appraisal).
- Typically 3+ years in a platform analyst, application support or technical analyst role within a Microsoft-centric

environment.

- Experience supporting and analysing enterprise technology platforms within a Microsoft-centric environment, with





practical experience in one or more of:

Microsoft Power Platform

Dynamics 365

Data and Analytics platforms

Integration technologies

Cloud and Infrastructure services

- Solid working knowledge of ITIL service management practices; incident, problem, change, release and configuration

management.

- Experience supporting business-critical platforms through both project delivery and steady-state operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and business audiences with equal

confidence.

- Comfortable working alongside third-party suppliers and managed-service partners and holding them to account for

quality.

- Pragmatic, structured approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to flex across topics as needed.

Desirable

- Power Platform ALM experience; solutions, environments, managed pipelines, source control.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure data services (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse) and/or Power

BI.

- Exposure to modern infrastructure Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, hyperconverged infrastructure and networking

fundamentals.

- Familiarity with integration patterns across Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Logic Apps, APIs and common SaaS applications.
- Awareness of agile, DevOps and product-aligned delivery models.
- Experience working in global, multi-country organisations.
- Comfortable operating as a platform generalist, developing knowledge across multiple technology domains while

maintaining deeper expertise in assigned platform areas. Initially this role is expected to focus primarily on the

Enterprise Solutions Platform (ESP).

- Owns issues end-to-end and follows through to resolution.
- Brings rigour to documentation, configuration and change; the platforms outlast any single project.
- Collaborative across IT, the business and third parties; comfortable challenging respectfully when something isnt right.
