The assistant category manager will help manage and optimize inventory and availability for dairy product categories at More Retail Private Limited. This role focuses on supporting category performance analysis, vendor follow-ups, fill rate tracking, and coordinating cross-functional teams to drive category growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up with vendors regularly to ensure timely product deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
Track and analyze fill rates to minimize stockouts and improve availability.
Assist in conducting market research and competitor analysis to understand FMCG trends and consumer preferences.
Support the development and execution of category strategies aligned with FMCG business goals.
Monitor sales performance and prepare regular reports on category-wise sales, margins, inventory status, and fill rates.
Coordinate with procurement, marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and product visibility.
Assist in managing vendor communication and support negotiation processes.
Maintain accurate category data and documentation.
Participate in category review meetings and contribute insights based on data and market knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Masters degree in Business Administration - Marketing / Supply Chain from Tier 2/3 college.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. SQL knowledge is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to track metrics like fill rate and sales performance.
Experience or willingness to handle vendor follow-ups and vendor relationship management.
Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and organized, willingness to learn and adapt quickly.

Team player with collaborative skills across departments.
Basic understanding of FMCG market dynamics.
Basic Excel Knowledge is a must.
