Job Title: Senior Java Developer (Enterprise Platforms)
Location: Bengaluru, India
Employment Type: Full-Time Employee (FTE)
Role Overview
We are looking for Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications and platform services that power mission-critical banking systems.
The role involves building highly scalable, secure, and resilient microservices while contributing to reusable engineering frameworks, API-first development, and cloud-native application modernization. The ideal candidate will work closely with architecture, DevOps, platform engineering, and business teams to deliver high-quality enterprise solutions aligned with banking standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Application Development
- Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices following enterprise architecture standards.
- Develop reusable libraries, shared services, and common platform components.
- Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
2. Microservices & API Development
- Design event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
- Develop secure REST APIs with proper authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Implement API versioning, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Integrate with enterprise messaging platforms and asynchronous processing systems.
3. Platform Engineering & Integration
- Integrate applications with databases, enterprise middleware, and third-party systems.
- Develop reusable integration patterns for internal banking applications.
- Participate in platform modernization and migration initiatives.
- Support cloud-native application deployment and containerized environments.
4. Performance, Reliability & Security
- Optimize application performance through profiling and tuning.
- Implement resilient designs including retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and caching.
- Ensure secure coding practices aligned with enterprise security guidelines.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues.
5. DevOps & Automation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
- Support infrastructure automation and deployment standardization.
6. Engineering Standards & Governance
- Follow enterprise architecture principles and coding standards.
- Produce technical documentation and design artifacts.
- Ensure compliance with banking security and audit requirements.
- Contribute to reusable frameworks and engineering accelerators.
7. Collaboration & Capability Building
- Work closely with architects, product owners, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.
- Participate in design discussions and technical decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Java application development.
- Solid expertise in Java 11/17 and Spring Boot.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Spring Framework
- Spring Data JPA
- Spring Security
- Hibernate
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or enterprise messaging platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance).
- Experience with OpenShift or enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
- Knowledge of API Gateway technologies.
- Experience with Redis or distributed caching.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and ELK.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Understanding of secure application development and OWASP standards.
