The Cassandra DBAis responsible forthe administration, maintenance, and optimization of Apache Cassandra databases. This role ensures cluster health, high availability, scalability, and performance for applications managing large volumes of data. The DBA will also handle security, backups, and capacity planning while collaborating with development teams for efficient data modeling and query design.
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of Apache Cassandra and related tools (including DataStax products).
- Proficiencyin Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, and SQL.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for operational efficiency.

- Cluster Management:Configure,maintain, andmonitorCassandra clusters to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Performance Optimization:Analyze data access patterns,identifybottlenecks, and tune clusters foroptimalperformance and scalability.
- Data Modeling & Query Design:Collaborate with developers to design efficient data models and queries.
- Security & Backups:Implement security measures, manage access controls, encryption, replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Capacity Planning:Forecast storage and computing requirements based on growth and project goals.
- Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve production issues promptly.
- Automation:Automate routine tasks such as cluster provisioning and monitoring using scripting and automation tools.
