Role Summary
The DevOps Solution Architect will define and govern the enterprise-wide DevSecOps and continuous delivery strategy, ensuring that all deployment pipelines and hybrid environments across Azure Cloud and On-Premises datacenters are efficient, secure, scalable, and aligned with long-term business objectives. This role covers the full hybrid delivery domain including Azure DevOps pipeline architecture, artifact management, release automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and hybrid connectivity ensuring that new applications, migrations, platform upgrades, and operational environments are built on sustainable, highly automated architectures.
The DevOps Solution Architect collaborates across development, operations, and business units to develop CI/CD infrastructure roadmaps, ensure adherence to DevSecOps architectural standards, and drive automation and efficiency initiatives. They provide leadership in adopting emerging DevOps tooling, managing hybrid application lifecycle transitions, and maintaining strong governance over source code, artifact security, and release practices across both Azure and On-Prem environments
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic DevSecOps Planning: Define and execute the enterprise DevSecOps and automation roadmap across Azure Cloud and On-Premises. Evaluate emerging technologies and align toolchain investments (e.g., JFrog, Nexus) with business and productivity goals.
- Pipeline & Deployment Governance: Establish and enforce reference architectures for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and release management. Guide the modernization of legacy applications into automated, zero-downtime deployment pipelines.
- Cost & Efficiency Optimization: Drive toolchain consolidation and pipeline optimization to reduce build times, minimize bandwidth consumption, and lower operating costs. Evaluate TCO and ROI for all automation initiatives.
- DevSecOps & Security Oversight:
Embed "shift-left" security (SAST/DAST, container scanning) and Zero Trust principles into CI/CD pipelines. Define governance for artifact lifecycle management and ensure strict compliance and auditability for all deployments.
- Hybrid Architecture & Operations: Architect highly available hybrid deployment solutions, optimizing self-hosted agents and artifact caching over constrained networks. Monitor and improve DORA metrics for pipeline performance.
- Enterprise Compliance: Establish release governance, automated quality gates, and disaster recovery plans for mission-critical delivery platforms. Ensure regulatory compliance across all source code and artifact repositories.
- Leadership & Culture: Foster a collaborative enterprise DevOps culture to break down organizational silos. Advise leadership on delivery bottlenecks and mentor engineering teams on Azure DevOps, IaC (Terraform, Bicep), and continuous delivery best practices.
Required Skills
- Experience: 10+ years in IT engineering, with 5+ years specializing in DevOps architecture, CI/CD automation, and hybrid operations (Azure & On-Premises).
- Strategy & Leadership: Proven ability to drive multi-year DevSecOps roadmaps, lead Agile transformations, and foster a cooperative DevOps culture across executive and technical teams.
- Technical Toolchain: Deep expertise in CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Runners), IaC & Configuration (Terraform, Ansible), Containerization (Docker), and Artifact Management (Artifactory).
- Hybrid Cloud & Integration: Strong knowledge of Azure, VMware (vRA/vRO), Linux/Windows, and ITSM integrations (ServiceNow, CMDB).
- Scripting & APIs: Advanced proficiency in PowerShell,
Python, Bash, Azure CLI, C#, and REST API integration for custom automation.
- DevSecOps & Compliance: Hands-on experience with "shift-left" security, secrets management, and software supply chain compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, MAS-TRM).
- Financial Acumen: Skilled in DevOps toolchain cost modeling, TCO analysis (cloud vs. on-prem infrastructure), and ROI assessments.
- Certifications: AZ-400 (DevOps Expert) preferred; AZ-305, CKA, TOGAF, or similar DevSecOps certifications are a plus
